HOW IT WORKS

One tap from cashier
to wallet.

The whole exchange takes less than a second and replaces every part of the paper-receipt ritual — including the awkward 'do you want it printed?'

STEP 01

Plug in the tag

Stick the NFC puck near your terminal or counter. No wiring, no integration call. It pairs with your TapReceipt account in 60 seconds.

STEP 02

Customer taps

After payment, the cashier says "tap here for receipt." The customer holds their phone to the puck — that is it. iPhone and Android, no app required.

STEP 03

Receipt in their wallet

A signed digital receipt opens in the browser. On the first tap it offers to save to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. The next visit goes silently.

WHAT IS IN THE PUCK

A coin that cannot lie.

The puck is the smallest part of the system, but it does the cryptography that lets you trust everything that follows.

NFC chip · NTAG 424 DNA

A tamper-resistant secure element with a rotating signature. Each tap produces a unique URL — receipts cannot be cloned, replayed, or scraped.

Loop antenna

A flat coil tuned to 13.56 MHz. Reads through glass, leather phone cases and most countertops. Range is 1–4 cm, by design.

Tamper seal

A thin breakaway lacquer between the puck and the surface. Lift the puck, the seal breaks, the dashboard flags it within the hour.

No battery, no cable

The puck draws power from the phone's field. It is good for at least a million taps and survives a wet bar towel.

WHAT THE CUSTOMER SEES

No app, no account.

The whole experience runs in the browser the phone already trusts. Nothing to download. Nothing to type. Nothing to consent to twice.

00:00Phone unlocks; no app prompt.
00:00.4Browser opens to receipt.tapreceipt.com/r/...
00:00.9Total, line items, store, time — all readable.
00:01.3Wallet pass offered. One tap to save.
LaterReceipt is searchable in their wallet, forever.
WHAT GETS STORED

The least we possibly can.

Privacy is a load-bearing wall here, not a marketing checkbox. We store enough to satisfy the tax authority and nothing else.

Receipt payload
Encrypted at rest (AES-256), per-merchant key.
Customer identity
None. We never see who tapped.
Tap event
Anonymous puck ID, timestamp, country.
Retention
7 years for the merchant; nothing for the shopper.
